We propose you as a starter for dinner a delicious skewer full of flavor and color: skewer of Iberian ham, sardines and salmorejo. It is a very easy recipe to prepare, and at the same time with a lot of flavor. We have resorted to a good raw material in which the saline touch of some sardine fillets, together with the classic combination of salmorejo with Iberian ham, achieve a mouthful full of flavors and nuances.

INGREDIENTS

  • Bread cut into wide slices
  • Freshly sliced Iberian ham
  • Canned sardine fillets
  • Salmorejo no garlic
  • Piquillo peppers in strips

Prepare some salmorejo following this recipe, but without using the garlic so that it does not cover the other flavors of the skewer.

  1. Put the slices of bread to toast so that it is very crunchy.
  2. Then Cut each slice into several pieces, calculating that on each of them there will be a sardine loin.
  3. TOAdd a little of the salmorejo without garlic and spread it evenly.
  4. Cover each piece of bread spread in salmorejo with the Iberian Ham.
  5. Place a sardine fillet on each skewer making sure you have removed all the bones.
  6. Finally Finish off with a strip of piquillo pepper on each sardine fillet and that's it. Get out of the kitchen and eat!!!

Do not prepare these skewers in advance because if you do so the salmorejo will soften the bread excessively and the skewer will lose its texture.

Depending on the canned sardines in oil you buy

sardines may be more or less large. If they are large and come with the thorn in the center, cut them in half lengthwise and remove the thorns. If they are very small, you will have to assess if you leave them whole and without removing the thorns. But in this case

be careful with the thorns and the little ones in the house
